Two Minnesota House debates this week

A pair of House forums this week Blue Earth County voters will have a chance to scope out their state House choices on Monday and Tuesday. A forum at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday for District 23B — which includes Mankato, Skyline, a small portion of lower North Mankato and the townships of Lime and Mankato — will feature Rep. Kathy Brynaert, DFL-Mankato, and challenger Dave Kruse, R-Mankato. The hour-long event is at the AmericInn on Stadium Road.

The rest of Blue Earth County is in District 24B, which also includes parts of Faribault and Waseca counties, and a forum is set for 7 p.m. Monday at the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial High School for the three candidates in that contest. Rep. Tony Cornish, R-Good Thunder, is being challenged by Joan Muth-Milks, DFL-Wells, and Mark Meyer, IP-Lake Crystal. Greater Mankato Growth is sponsoring both forums, joined by the Lake Crystal school board and chamber of commerce for the District 24B event.
